Frequently Asked Questions
If you have not worked with logistics and supply chain consultants before, you might wonder if there is true value to be had from engaging them.

So the first question that might spring to your mind, before even thinking about working with Logistics Bureau is “Will I get meaningful value from the fees I will pay?”

In answer to that, our CEO, Rob O’Byrne states the following:

“I offer you my personal assurance, that at Logistics Bureau, you will. The majority of our consulting assignments result in a payback for the client within six months. That’s why we have loyal customers, many of whom have been with us since we launched our business in July 1997.”

Here are answers to a few of the other questions you might have:

1. How do you charge for your services?

We can agree charges on a fixed fee basis or at an agreed daily rate. Some of our existing clients prefer the daily rate, particularly for projects like implementation support, when they want flexibility in the amount of days provided by our consultants. However, the majority of our work is based on an agreed fixed fee, for an agreed scope of work and outcome.

2. How do you establish the level of fees?

We base our fees purely on the resources required to achieve your project’s objectives. We carefully scope and plan every project with our clients before submitting any proposal. By doing so, we can ensure that everybody’s expectations are clear.

We then undertake detailed project planning to establish time lines and resource requirements. This detailed preparation comes at no cost to the client. We prefer to progress through two or three iterations of a proposal if necessary—to ensure we get it right.

We take great care in our project planning and pricing, because we guarantee the results!

3. I have not heard of Logistics Bureau before. How do you source new business?

Our marketing effort is low key. That’s because 65% of our work is repeat business with clients that know and trust us. We gain a further 30% of new business via referrals from existing customers. The remaining 5% comes from inbound enquiries.

If you are new to working with Logistics Bureau, a referral from one of our existing clients is always a great way to fast-track the introductions and meet us, to see if we are a good fit for you, and vice versa.

4. Do you work with us on site, or remotely?

Before the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, our consultants worked mostly on-site at the client’s location, but would also work remotely when appropriate. For example, some projects would commence with one or two workshops at the client’s facility, with much of the work then being completed remotely.

Since the pandemic, we have developed our remote working capabilities, and in many cases, can work with you on a 100% remote basis, using the best in collaborative and communications technology.

Ultimately though, the nature of a project will determine how we work. Implementation projects, for instance, are more likely to require our consultants to spend time at the client’s premises.
