After many years as a customer of Benchmarking Success with 3 different companies, Steven Thacker, most recently Supply Chain Director with Ingram Micro, the world’s largest IT distributor, has joined Benchmarking Success.

Benchmarking Success

Steven has been involved in the Supply Chain industry for nearly 30 years and has occupied senior management positions in organisations for over 20 of that. As well working within Australia, Steven also spent several years based in and working in Asia and so brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from operating in the Asian environment as well.

Rob O’Byrne (Group Managing Director of Logistics Bureau) remarked; “We welcome someone of Steven’s calibre as a Director of BMS as well as someone who has had first had experience of the benefits of using the BMS database and processes as the foundation stone of setting a supply chain strategy bent on achieving best in class excellence”.

Along the way Steven has been an active participant in the BMS Peer Groups and is looking to further develop that concept that allows organisations to be able to share best practices together and thereby aid accelerate their journey to excellence. Stevens background and experience spans a wide spectrum of supply chain activity including:

  • Managing 3PL operations, operating transport companies delivering product in three temperature zones – frozen, chiller and dry,
  • Warehouse as well as Cold Store design and operation,
  • Procurement and Buying, managing Customer Service teams and implementing S&OP into businesses,
  • Rail and sea freight forwarding to name a few.

This experience has been achieved across a number of industries including:
Pharmaceutical, FMCG, IT and technology, Food and beverage, Coal, Fast Serve Restaurants, Retail, and transportation.
Steven has a Grad Dip in Logistics Management from Monash University as well as a Masters in Business (Supply Chain), also from Monash University.
