Successful Outsourcing relies on a number of essentials. But a vital element, is the RFT or Request for Tender. So I thought it might be useful to share a suggested contents list for a Warehousing RFT. I’ve been involved in Logistics Outsourcing since 1994, and have assisted dozens of companies through the process since then. Across all industries. So I hope that this information will help you in your own Outsourcing Success. One of the things that I often see companies get wrong when preparing to outsource, is a poorly structured RFT. There’s a lot that needs to be included. If important sections are missing it can set up the whole outsourcing relationship for failure. So I hope this example contents page will help you from missing anything vital in your own RFT preparation. And please do comment below. Maybe you think that there are other key sections that should be included?

Yes, it’s a lengthy document! But it needs to be. Typically it might run to 50+ pages (12,000 words). There’s a lot to be covered and explained. Lack of detail at this stage of the Outsourcing Process can lead to disaster later. Watch your inbox as I’ll be sharing more information and tips on Logistics Outsourcing in the coming weeks. What else would you add to a Warehousing RFT?
Do please comment below. (Sorry we had a website glitch on Friday and lost the previous comments)
