We can help your company too. We can bring the expertise and knowledge of our logistics and supply chain consultants to Kenya for your next warehouse or logistics project, either in person, or via our purpose-designed remote consulting services, developed specifically to meet the business and travel challenges existing in the current pandemic environment.

Remote Logistics and Supply Chain Consultants for Kenya Businesses
Perhaps you would like some help from a consulting partner, but are concerned about the complications and logistics challenges of working with external service providers under the strict travel and movement restrictions, and social distancing protocols necessary to safeguard health amidst the global COVID-19 crisis.

It’s a common concern, and a valid one, which is why shortly after the pandemic broke out, Logistics Bureau began developing expertise and technology to provide a new generation of consulting practices using 100% remote methods.

Since then, many new and existing clients have enjoyed successful outcomes from working with us, without any of our consultants setting foot in their business premises, or even in their country.

While these services are currently available for a select range of logistics and supply chain projects, we’re continually expanding our offering, and adding new digital solutions to increase our remote consulting capabilities.

We currently offer the following diagnostic solutions using a 100% remote consulting approach:

  • Cost to serve (CTS): Did you know that up to 14% of your sales are likely to generate losses instead of profits? Identify them and take action with the help of our CTS diagnostic service.
  • Inventory management: We can have you on your way to an inventory reduction of up to 20% in just two weeks with our remote inventory-level diagnostics.
  • Safety stock reduction: Is your business carrying too much safety inventory? Do you even know if your safety stock levels are optimal? We can help you to right-size them for savings in working capital.
  • Distribution network optimisation: Optimise the flow of products through your distribution network for improved service and reduced costs.
  • Warehouse performance: We’ll help you spot bottlenecks and inefficiencies in your warehouse processes and help you plan the steps to eliminate them.
  • Demand forecasting: Our forecasting analytics can help you achieve substantial accuracy gains in sales and demand forecasting.
  • Supply chain planning: How effective is your supply chain planning? We’ll assist you to spot weaknesses in your planning processes, and improve efficiency by up to 20%.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you haven’t worked with logistics and supply chain consultants before, the first question that might spring to mind is something like “Will I get true value from the consulting fees I will pay?”

In answer to that, our CEO, Rob O’Byrne offers the following response, in his own words:

“I offer you my personal assurance, that at Logistics Bureau, you will. The majority of our consulting assignments result in a payback for the client within six months. That’s why we have loyal customers, many of whom have been with us since we launched our business in July 1997.”

Here are answers to a few of the other questions you might have:

1. How do you apply fees for your services?

We can charge your business using either a fixed fee or a daily rate. Some of our existing customers opt for the daily rate, particularly for implementation support and similar assignments, as it provides flexibility in the number of days provided by our consultants. The majority of our work, though, is based on the fixed-fee structure, for an agreed scope of work and outcome.

2. How do you determine the level of fees?

We base our fees on the resources necessary to meet your project objectives. We scope and plan every project with our clients before submitting a proposal, so we can be certain that everybody’s expectations are aligned.

We then carry out detailed project planning to define timescales and resource needs. This detailed preparation comes at no cost to the customer. If necessary, we will progress through two or three iterations of a proposal to ensure we get it right.

All our project planning and pricing is conducted with precision, because we guarantee the results!

3. I’ve not heard of Logistics Bureau before. How do you gain new business?

Our marketing effort is low key, with 65% of our work comprising repeat business with clients that know and trust us. We source a further 30% of business through referrals from existing customers. The remaining 5% arises from inbound enquiries.

If you’re new to working with us, a referral from one of our existing customers is an excellent way to fast-track the introductions to see if we are a good fit for your business, and vice versa.

4. Do you work with us on site, or remotely?

Before the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, our consultants worked mostly on-site at clients’ locations, with some remote work when appropriate. For example, some projects would commence with a workshop or two at the client’s facility, with much of the work then being completed remotely.

Since the pandemic began, we have developed and enhanced our remote working capabilities. In many cases, we can work with you on a 100% remote basis, using the latest digital tools for communication and collaboration.

Of course, the nature of your project will play a large part in determining how we work with you. Implementation projects, for instance, are more likely to require our consultants to spend time at your business locations.
