“Harish Bhatia, the founder of the Express Logistics and Supply Chain Conclave event in Mumbai, talks to Rob O’Byrne about Indian Logistics challenges.

Rob: Now for many of us in Supply Chain were always keen to hear about what’s happening in other parts of the world and how people are actually getting over their Supply Chain Challenges. Hi, this is Rob O’Byrne from Logistics Bureau and today I’m with Harish Bhatia who is the CEO of Kamikaze media who are the organizers of this great event you can see behind us and it’s the 7th Express Logistics & Supply Chain Conclave and it’s all you’re doing which is amazing. Thank you very much for inviting me here.

Harish: Thank you Rob. I have strong team members. Some of them who are just on the right of my side, some of them are on the other side and I believe that as a team we have put the show together.

Rob: That’s amazing and they’re all just standing off camera because they don’t wanna be standing here.

Harish: Yes.

Rob: Very well Harish is doing.

Harish: But they all represent kamikaze, including Harish.

Rob: Sensational event. Well I’ve got a burning question for you. What do you think maybe the top 1 or 2 challenges for Logistics in India. What are the things that really people are struggling with?

Harish: The first one would be the last mile connectivity. Second would be sustainability. Third would be Best Management. There’s a lot of this in India. So according to me this three would be the top challenges in logistics in India.

Rob: Okay, okay that’s interesting. Now this is my first time in India and I spent a wonderful day yesterday driving all around Mumbai distributions and cities the size of Mumbai and if you don’t know India well, I was telling people this morning that Australia was 2 and half times the size of India and our whole population is the size of Mumbai. So I mean it must be really difficult doing those in a city delivery and is that a challenge do you think?

Harish: It’s a very big challenge especially as I said best management for the food companies FMCG Companies it’s the biggest challenge. 20% of what we produce is wasted.

Rob: Well…well… so were gonna have to get back inside because there’s loads of great presentation that we want to listen to so Harish Bhatia Thank you very much for firstly the invitation to come here and for putting on such a wonderful event.

Harish: Thanks Rob. Great being with you.

Rob: I will enjoy a glass of wine this evening.

Harish: Thanks! With you of course.”
