Yet again, Logistics Bureau was very well represented and became the talk of the conference at times. In the past, this was because of the appearance of our mobile office moored outside, or even Gomez the snake! But this time it was our 3 Act Play!

BHT Pty limited, a $4 billion Australian company, has embarked on a strategy of outsourcing manufacturing to China. Chen Lee Manufacturing (CLM), based in Guandong, has been their manufacturing partner now for 12 months.
We turn the clock back over 12 months, and take a ‘fly on the wall’ peek into the board rooms of both BHT and CLM, as the ‘offshoring’ relationship is conceived, negotiated and implemented. Through the barriers of culture, language and mis aligned expectations, we gain an insight into the real cost/benefits of offshoring and the many hurdles that can lie in wait for the unwary.
